HA NOI ? The Internationally acclaimed film Mua Len Trau (Buffalo Boy) has won the title of Best Foreign Language Film of the Year at the Palm Springs Film Festival in California.The film, directed by Vietnamese-American Nguyen Vo Nghiem Minh, has already received prizes at several international film festivals over the past year, including the Chicago International Film Festival, the Lorcano International Film Festival in Switzerland and the Amien Film Festival in France.

The screenplay was adapted from one of Viet Nam??s most popular short stories, writer Son Nam??s Huong Rung Ca Mau (Scent of the Woods in Ca Mau).The Palm Springs Film Festival took place from January 5-16, attracting 232 films from 71 countries, including 84 premieres and 49 of the 54 foreign entries for this year??s Academy Awards.

Mua Len Trau will also compete for the award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 78th annual Oscars this year.The highly scenic film is a simple tale focusing on the character of Vietnamese people. It tells the story of a boy saving buffalo from floods in the southernmost province of Ca Mau during the 1930s.

In the spring 1975, the US resistant war of Vietnamese people turned into the final phase, in which the strategic decisive battle named Ho Chi Minh campaign with the aim to liberate Sai Gon City , the Southern of Vietnam then to unify the whole country.

Thanks to the opening victory of liberating Buon Ma Thuot central highland town, our troops have forced the enermy fleeing out of some provinces including Tay Nguyen, Hue , Da Nang and other seashore cities in the Middle of Vietnam ?? To snatch the opportunity, the Politboro and the Central Army Party Committee had a lucid decision, which mobilized people and properties from the Northern rear to the Southern battlefield in order to finish the war promtly.

The historic Ho Chi Minh campaign with 5 main force troops have created 5 direction of assaults fighting directly into the central of Sai Gon city, in corporation with the revolt of SaiGon- Gia Dinh soldiers and people with purpose to force President Duong Van Minh of Sai Gon old regime to surrender unconditionally.
