Slated to run for 1,000 episodes, period sit-com Teach Me About Confucius aspires to write a new chapter in Mainland China's television history. The epic endeavor also has an ambition to match, for the producers intend to educate the newer generations on traditional Chinese culture in an enjoyable manner. With famous writer/producer Zou Jingzhi (The Bronze Teeth) at the helm, the historical drama is named after the school Jin Dynasty historian Chen Shou (the author of "Records of the Three Kingdoms") attended when he was young.
Focused on a small-town private school in Ming Dynasty China, Teach Me About Confucius stars comedy actor Guo Donglin as the venerable and lovable teacher, who has to deal with six mischievous students and their parents, while also be ready to serve his sassy wife (Liu Min) anytime. Through their interesting stories, viewers can learn about the essence of traditional Chinese culture from the Four Books & Five Classics to the Four Great Inventions. The theme song, penned by screenwriter Wang Hailin and sung by "Super Girl" Jade Liu, puts inspiring lyrics to a catchy tune and is sure to be a national hit too.
