Senior chemist of the Forensic Science Division KO YIN-POK (AU YEUNG CHUN WAH, BOBBY) is a rational and level-headed type with remarkable powers of observation. Through the examination of physical traces like a small strand of hair or tiny fibers from clothing, he can help the police crack even the toughest cases. What is ironic is that his brother-in-law, KOO CHAK-SUM (LAM MAN LUG, FRANKIE), who is a forensic pathologist, and senior inspector LEUNG SIU-YAU (MUNG KA WAI, Yoyo) have both come to suspect him of poisoning his wife.

With his profound forensic knowledge, POK finally manages to prove his innocence. POK, SUM and YAU - the iron triangle of the Forensic Science Division, the Forensic Pathology Service and the Hong Kong police - continue to work in close collaboration with one another, as they always did. But all is not well when strange happenings begin to occur. It appears to the trio that the more cases they solve, the more mysteries confront thme. Things have become far too complex. It seems that someone is plotting against POK and even trying to do away with him.....

The plot for Forensic Heroes contains a mixture of Mystery, Romance, Comedy, Tragedy and Education on some Science. The mysteries include Who Killed Tim Sir's wife?, The Sewage Skeleton, The Tai Po Corpse, Murders for Justice and Where is Tim Sir? The series included many serial killers. "Who Killed Tim Sir's Wife?" had two possible suspects, however, the murderer turns out to be a nurse who accidentally poisoned her. This causes Tim's heart to break, but it is a lucky chance for him to fall in love with Siu-Yau. "The Sewage Skeleton" was a skeleton of a woman. It was very complex. However, lucky breaks allowed Forensics to solve the mystery. "Murders for Justice" was by a girl named Tracy. She hated people who committed crimes, and loved Sam. Sam is an author, so Tracy kills crime-doers by his story methods. She eventually commits suicide by jumping off a building. "Where is Tim Sir" was the last mystery.

A clown, Tracy's only true friend, abducted Tim. The clown puts him in a port container with seemingly limited air supply, definite no water and food supply and a camera connected to a laptop, stored in a disc and new clips sent to Forensics everyday show Tim trying to create a fire to attract the rescuers using friction. But Forensics has only three days to find Tim before he dies of thirst and hunger. Siu-Yau is especially distraught as she has fallen in love with him. The clown is caught, brought to Forensics to be interrogated, but before any informaion is extracted from him, he kills himself. All seems lost. However, while Forensics is searching, Siu-Yau looks at the laptop screen with Sam.

Tim seems to have given up. Then the lights lighting the container up dim and a small hole is seen coming through the container. This sparks new hope in Siu-Yau and Sam, who check the position of the sun and find out where Tim is. Still, that is not narrowed down enough. Tim is wearing a watch that could reflect sunlight coming through the hole and start a small fire, which the rescuers would see. But little do they know that Tim is just waiting to die. Tim has a dream. He sees his wife, Charlie in the dream. She asks him what he is doing in the world of the dead. Tim says that he is ready to give up and leave the earth. However, Charlie tells him she is sure he can do it and leaves. Tim snaps back into the real world, but sinks back into his dream again. Siu-Yau is understandbly very distraught. Tim this time dreams of his true love, Siu-Yau. He says he is tired of suffering on earth, but Siu-Yau holds his hands and tells him others are waiting for him, and he has to pull through. This gives Tim enough confidence to raise his arm to the sunlight, and start a fire.

When the whole office knows of it, it erupts in cheers. The air force that is helping to find Tim Sir, finds him in a container. Tim is hospitalized and he tells Siu-Yau that is was her that he saw that made him keep on going rather than giving up. Siu-Yau rejects Tim sadly. Ting-Ting and Sam decide to buy a house together and is it there that Sam proposes to Ting-Ting. There is a party to celebrate the wedding of Ting-Ting and Sam. There Tim invites Siu-Yau to a show and then they get called to a case.
