 Four anarchistic, nihilistic youths run amuck in the streets and ATTACK THE GAS STATION! Lord Of The Flies - style social engineering quickly breaks out amongst the hostages as punk rockers pump petrol, gangsters are forced to rap, customer service becomes a fighting art and the gas station becomes a staging ground for an end-times battle between gangsters, punks and an army of moped-delivery boys. Director Kim Sam Jin takes us into the world of the surreal where madness and mayhem rule. A dada poke in the eye to authority, this film either serves as a political parable about Korean society or, as a microcosm of Korean social problems or, alternately, just a hell of a lot of fun.
One of the most popular films in Korean history, ATTACK THE GAS STATION! is an absorbing action/comedy that is also a sly satire of South Korea's social turmoil. The film begins as four teenage punks rip off a gas station, only to quickly become dissatisfied with the relatively small amount of cash they stole. Deciding that running the station would be more lucrative, the four return the next day to hold the station attendants hostage and rob the customers that come in.
'No Mark' is a self-styled basketball genius. 'Ddan Dda Ra' always says that death is better than no music. 'Ppaint' is devoted his whole life to nude drawing. 'Mu Dae Po' is ignorant and thus, strong. These men suddenly raid a gas station late at night, stopping eating noodle. There is no reason!
That's just because the gas station is there. The president of gas station is blinded by money. An employee, 'Keon Pang' is opportunitical and quick-witted. 'San Nim' is simple-minded. A woman employee 'Kkal Chee' is sexy and attractive. A shocking accident happens to them. When No Mark and the others attack on the gas station, there is no money in its cash register.
They determine to exchange oil for cash by holding customers in hostage. In other words, they fill up customer's car with oil whether they cost 1000 won or 10000 won for it and just receive all the money. Policemen, a deliveryman, gang, high schooler.... They rush to the gas station by turns. Unimaginable raid on the gas station starts.
