<> Ostensibly a teen fright-fest about a vengeful ghost, WHISPERING CORRIDORS follows in the best horror tradition of using the supernatural for displaced social commentary. The film is an illustration of the growing gap in Korean society between the values of the youth and the older generations, focused around the misogyny and cutthroat competition in the educational system. It became a huge hit in its native country after word got out that the ministry of education wanted to ban it for its critical viewpoint.
The plot concerns a series of grisly murders at an all girls school, which the administration has tried to cover up as suicides. A former student, who has returned as a teacher, finds something familiar about the deaths, and launches her own inquiry into the events. She discovers that something far more sinister than simple murder is taking place. WHISPERING CORRIDORS was followed by two sequels.
In lively ground of a girls' high school. Mysterious incidents happen there...... The schoolyard on a rainy night, waterholes hollowed here and there. When a pair of white barefoot wearing a skirt tread down the waterholes, the ghastly school building stands alone and a woman teacher Park Ki-Suk is remained alone in the teacher's room browsing through her teacher's notebook with anxious look. Bright and sunny schoolyard.
 Ji-Oh and Jae-Yi, the first comers, finds their teacher in charge(Park Ki-Suk) as a body hooked on an old tree. The new teacher in charge is evil man Oh Kwang-Ku whose nick name is mad dog.
He makes a favorite of only So-Young whose family background is excellent while he insults Jeong-Suk, the ever 2nd grader, even mentioning her family circumstance. Ji-Oh, who is broad-minded and through with studying result, is the first object of beating of the mad dog.
While Panic-stricken rumors spread out, Jeong-Suk commits suicide due to unbearable humiliation of the teacher in charge, and the mad dog is missing during night watch. Meanwhile Eun-Young, who is assigned to her old school as a literature teacher, can't forget lingering Park Ki-Suk's message left in her telephone the night before she died.... "Kin-Ju is here. She still studies in school..."
