With 26 film sequels and upwards of 100 TV episodes, Shintaro Katsu is the legendary Zatoichi! He's a low ranking blind masseur who lives by the Yakuza code and answers his foes with a deadly cane sword. By far, one of Japanese cinema's most time honored screen personas, Zatoichi is, to this day, the ultimate anti-hero and champion of the common man.
Zatoichi seeks bloody vengeance on a ruthless gang and a powerful ronin in episode four of the Blind Swordsman series. Arriving in the village of Shimonita, Ichi learns that a local gang has placed a bounty on his head. A powerful hired ronin attacks Ichi and nearly claims his life, but when a defenseless woman is slain by the assassin, Ichi can no longer control his rage. After laying waste to the entire gang, Ichi's final duel becomes a deadly meeting of the samurai's superior swordsmanship and the blind masseur's unbridled rage.
The blind swordsman Masseur Ichi (Shintaro Katsu) becomes the target of a local gang when he proves his fighting skill. Ichi, already burdened with a price upon his head, is then saddened to learn that a long lost love, Tane, is now living with a master samurai from this vicious gang. When Tane is slain in a ruthless, defiant act of violence, Ichi seeks revenge on the entire gang, particularly their sadistic leader. This fourth episode in the highly popular Japanese ZATOICHI series is full of melodrama and violent rage.
