Based on the Japanese manga Hana Yori Dango (a.k.a. Boys Over Flowers), Meteor Garden introduced Asia to the incomparable boy band F4. Consisting of members Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Ken Chu, and Vanness Wu, F4 would go on to a stellar career beyond the first Meteor Garden miniseries, spawning concerts, albums, commercials and even more television dramas.
All four of the F4 boys appear in this collection of "side stories", each exploring an individual member of F4 in greater detail.
In "Akira's Scene", Akira (Vanness Wu) finds that his wallet has been stolen. He tracks down the pickpocket only to discover that she's an eccentric Japanese beauty (Senda Aisia, formerly of the group Sunday Girls). A brief romance begins, highlighted by a sensational dance sequence with Vanness and Senda.
In "Soujirou's Scene", Soujirou (Ken Chu) is forced to examine his playboy lifestyle when his old girlfriend Yuki (Rainie Yang of the blockbuster Taiwanese drama Devils Beside You) returns, looking to rekindle their relationship.
In "Tsukasa's Scene I and II", a pre-Meteor Garden Tsukasa (Jerry Yan) is involved in a brutal fight that leaves a man in the hospital. He flees the scene, and seeks refuge with a father and daughter, only to discover they are also fugitives from the law. Through his chance meeting with the two, he comes to release the influence his power and wealth holds...
Meteor Rain features a number of popular F4 tracks, including the title song "Meteor Rain", still considered to be the most popular F4 song around. Solo hits by Ken Chu ("Here We Are") and Vanness Wu ("You Don't Love Me, Then Who Should I Love?") are also featured. All the songs from Meteor Rain can be found on the same-titled F4 album Meteor Rain (2nd Super Hong Kong Edition).
